How a Local Improv Studio Becomes a Community Living Room

There’s a concept called a “third space.” It’s a shared community living room that isn’t home and isn’t work — somewhere you can simply be. That idea is at the heart of Third Space Improv. We believe comedy isn’t just entertainment — it’s a vital social connection that supports overall mental health. When people gather to laugh, something powerful happens. Barriers drop. Strangers feel less strange as we actively combat loneliness and social isolation. A true community forms. That’s the experience and support we’re building here in St. Augustine.

More Than Just a Comedy Show

Third Space Improv is a place where:

  • Locals and visitors laugh side by side

  • New friendships start

  • Creativity is encouraged, not judged

  • People are welcomed exactly as they are

Our stage hosts improv comedy shows, and our space also provides training through comedy classes, kids summer camps, corporate team building workshops, and special pop-up community events. Some people come for a date night. Others come to train and learn something new. Many come back again and again because it feels good to belong and find peer support.

In a busy, noisy world, having a community living room to gather — to laugh, play, and build social connection — matters for our mental health and combating isolation.

If you’re looking for community events in St. Augustine, a fun night out, or a creative space where you can unplug, find support, and be present, we’d love to welcome you.

Come share the experience and laugh with us. Take a class to become a better listener. Bring a peer or friend. Your seat is waiting at Third Space Improv — your neighborhood community living room for laughter.
